ACT LIKE AN ANIMAL CAMP 2010
(Or should we say CAMPS?)
Exciting news! Starlight Theatre, in partnership with the Kansas City Zoo, is proud to announce that for the first time since its inception, the Act Like An Animal Camp will be happening not once, but TWICE during the summer of 2010! That's right. You read it correctly. Starlight Theatre, along with the Kansas City Zoo, will be offering this beloved, one-of-a-kind camp at two different times this summer!
The two separate camp sessions will take place as follows:
Monday through Friday, June 14-25, 2010
This camp will coincide with the touring production of Little House on the Prairie.
Monday through Friday, July 26- August 6, 2010
This camp will coincide with the touring production of Beauty and the Beast
NOTE: The Beauty and the Beast camp is full.
Please call Amy Reinert at 816-997-1112 if you wish to be put on a waiting list for this camp.
As if that was not enough exciting news, do you want to know something more? We have extended the age range of the camp as well! Starting this summer, campers ages 5-10 will be able to join us for this one-of-a-kind summer camp experience.
This two-week, full-day Act Like an Animal Camp for 5 to 10 year-olds will find campers spending half the day exploring the world of the Kansas City Zoo through hands-on interaction with animals, games, tours, stories, and crafts. The other half of the day, then, is spent at Starlight where campers participate in an energetic drama class and learn specialized theatre skills, including storytelling, movement and music. On the final day of camp, parents and friends will head to Starlight to view their camper's art work displayed in an art exhibit format and watch their little one perform in a culminating performance!
PLUS! Each camper and one guest will enjoy a night under the stars at Starlight's Broadway production of either Little House on the Prairie or Beauty and the Beast---depending on which camp the camper attends. Admission to the production is included in the price of the camp for the participating camper and one guest, but additional tickets will be offered for purchase. After a pizza party and backstage tour, campers will accompany their guest/s to their seats for the show.
