How much does it cost to rent Starlight Theatre for a private event?

Regular Private Event Season (second weekend in October to the second to last weekend in April)

Prime Season
On a conditional basis, the Starlight Theatre event spaces may be available for private events during the Prime Season for a minimum of $10,000 (venue rental only). Producation costs are signicantly higher during the Prime Season due to the necessity of changeover from the concert and Broadway set-up to private event set-up. If you are interested in more information on the conditions and costs associated with Prime Season private event rentals, please contact EPIC Entertainment. If you are interested in private group events related to Broadway shows or concerts, please contact Starlight Theatre group sales directly at 816.997.1137.

How many people can each room hold?

Stage House - Maximum 600 at 60" round tables
Helzberg Diamonds VIP Club - Maximum 300 at 60" round tables
Encore Deck - 300 reception style

Note: The following are auxillirary spaces rentable only in addition to the rental of one of the spaces above.
Berger Hall - 180 at round tables
Dorothy Jeter Music Room - 50 at round tables

Can I use my own caterer?

Yes, although we have a list of approved caterers. You may use other caterers, if pre-approved by EPIC.

Can I bring in my own alcohol?

Yes, you may bring your own alcohol. Bartenders and/or servers must have a liquor license permitting them to serve at Starlight. KCMO Liquor Laws determine the needs of each of event. Click here for the full liquar policy.

What else is included in my room rental?

All rooms include the following venue staffing:
  • Security
  • Off-duty KCPD lot monitors
  • Paramedic
  • On-site venue coordinator
  • Housekeeping

What about bands and DJs?

Clients can bring in their own band or DJ. All sound and lighting must go through our production company, Vista Productions, 816-729-5768. The exclusive provider of rental items for private events at Starlight is All Seasons Event Rental, 816-765-1444.
