Thank You to Starlight Volunteers!

National Volunteer Week is April 20-26, 2025. Every year, Starlight depends on hundreds of volunteers to help us with everything from scanning tickets to grounds keeping. At Starlight, we call our volunteers Ambassadors because they really are the welcoming smile and the helping hands that ensure smooth operations and enjoyable experiences for guests.

Since 1959, the Ambassadors have spent thousands of hours making Starlight a go-to summer event in Kansas City. In 2024, more than 200 active volunteers provided roughly 7,741 hours at Starlight.

They fill a variety of roles around the venue, including:

  • Ticket Scanning & Audience Assistance
  • Usher Duties & Seating Guests
  • Guest Information Services
  • Horticulture & Grounds keeping
  • Meyer Blvd Clean-up (once a month)

Starlight has been part of the Kansas City community for 75 years. For most of that time, Ambassadors have played an important role helping us do everything we do. As we prepare for another season of Broadway shows, popular concerts, and programs such as Community Movie Night, we look forward to working with another great group of volunteers!
