Eight Incredible Concerts Coming to Starlight This Month
In August, Starlight continues the 2019 Capitol Federal Concert Series with eight fantastic shows from a variety of concert artists. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy a show under the stars!
Peter Frampton – The Farewell Tour kicks off the August concerts under the stars Monday, August 5. This English musician and Grammy Award-winning artist became an international breakthrough in 1976 with the release of Frampton Comes Alive! and continues to be one of the most celebrated artists in rock history.
Next, two of hip-hop and R&B’s most legendary artists—Mary J. Blige & NAS—join forces and take the Starlight stage Tuesday, August 6. Mary J. Blige is a figure of inspiration, transformation and empowerment, making her one of the defining voices of the contemporary music era, and hip-hop heavyweight NAS has long been considered one of the most influential and talented MCs to ever hold a mic.
Saturday, August 10, brings Judah & the Lion’s biggest headlining tour yet to Starlight following the release of their new album, Pep Talks. The group’s third LP, Pep Talks takes a hard turn into deeply personal terrain and takes the listener on a candid, anthemic journey with one-of-a-kind sound of folk, bluegrass, rock, hip-hop and electronic production.
Three-time Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling artist Pentatonix stops at Starlight on its 45-date tour, Tuesday, August 13. The group’s self-titled debut album was certified gold after debuting at #1 on Billboard’s 200, and now they’ve sold nearly 10 million albums worldwide and performed for hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe.
Friday, August 16, brings Ben Folds & Violent Femmes to perform at Starlight. Widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation, Ben Folds has created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop, solo albums, and collaborations. Acoustic punk band Violent Femmes joins Folds at Starlight to rock harder than any other acoustic act that’s played under the stars.
Country singer-songwriter Dierks Bentley extended his Burning Man Tour—including a date at Starlight Thursday, August 22. In addition to his success on the Billboard charts, Bentley has been honored with many Grammy and Country Music Association nominations and was invited into the Grand Ole Opry in 2005. He’s joined on tour by platinum-selling artist Jon Pardi and Canadian country music singer Tenille Townes.
Next, kids of all ages will love when KIDZ BOP Live returns Friday, August 23. The #1 music brand for kids and Billboard Magazine’s “#1 Kid’s Artist” for eight consecutive years, this brand-new show is an interactive experience for the whole family. The KIDZ BOP kids will be performing today’s biggest hits with an engaging new set and exciting choreography.
Wrapping up July’s concerts at Starlight is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history, “Weird Al” Yankovic. He’s earned four Grammys and fifteen career nominations and is back with his Strings Attached tour on Saturday, August 31. It’s a high-energy rock and comedy production that audiences won’t want to miss.
