Starlight Theatre is ready to ring in the holidays with the 2018 Starlight STARS of Tomorrow middle school performance troupe. The cast of 13 students from across the metro began rehearsals Oct. 26-27, learning a medley of seven upbeat holiday songs and associated choreography. Local teaching artists Christina Burton (choreographer) and Brad Foster (music director) lead the troupe of 6th, 7th and 8th-graders.
In the first two weeks of November, the STARS of Tomorrow polished their holiday performance and staged it for a private audience of family and friends. Then, they took the show on the road to holiday events citywide, starting with a Nov. 17 appearance at “Holidays Come Alive” at Union Station and a Dec. 1 performance at City of Shawnee’s Christkindlmarkt.
