The soulful original score of composer Jason Robert Brown fills the summer skies of Winterset, Iowa, in The Bridges of Madison County, the romantic musical taking the stage at Starlight Theatre on June 14-19. For his work on the Broadway musical, Brown was honored with two Tony Awards® in 2014 – for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations.

“The lyric theatre felt like the perfect vehicle to tell the story of Robert and Francesa (the show’s leads),” said Brown in a Composer’s Notes feature. “I spent four years learning about Robert and Francesca and figuring out how and why they made the choices they did. This show celebrates, in many ways, the staggeringly high price and the even greater value of the commitments and the choices we made to build a home.”
