Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young get a taste of KC BBQ on “KC Live”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s classic musical of biblical proportions, is performing live at Starlight Theatre this week.

Starring in Joseph are real-life married couple and “American Idol” alums Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young. While in town, the two stopped by the “KC Live” set at KSHB-TV to talk about the show and to sample some of the best BBQ Kansas City has to offer.

Joseph creatively and colorfully retells the biblical story of the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son, his 11 brothers and his coat of many colors. The musical was the first collaboration of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and lyricist Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King) to be performed publicly, more than 40 years ago. It has since been produced more than 40,000 times worldwide – by professional theatres, amateur companies, schools and, of course, churches.

Joseph is playing at Starlight Theatre now through Sunday, July 13.
