Are you in need of a night of socially distanced fun under the stars? Us too! While Starlight was unable to stage Sister Act this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, Young Friends of Starlight still wants to celebrate the musical’s inspiration with a movie night showing the 1992 film, “Sister Act,” on Starlight’s North Lawn. The event will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 each.
“Sister Act” tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier—a lounge singer who witnesses a crime and must go into witness protection. She’s put in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! While her new life takes some adjustment, Deloris ends up finding a new sisterhood, and she breathes life into her newfound community.
Young Friends of Starlight invites those who are young and young at heart to join in on the fun. The film is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association—use your best judgment when deciding if the evening is appropriate for children.
Starlight will denote socially distanced spaces for general admission seating on the lawn. Patrons are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic basket with refreshments. Food will not be available to purchase, but a cash bar with beer and wine will be available. Bringing outside alcohol is prohibited.
Masks will be required for entry, when purchasing drinks and when social distancing is not possible.
