Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to New York City in the Tony Award-winning musical West Side Story.

Tony and Maria find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is enhanced by the iconic music of Leonard Bernstein and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim.    

This timeless tale features the classic songs “Tonight,” “America,” “Maria,” and more.

As Starlight’s only self-produced show of the year, this production features incredible local and national talent. Broadway legend Baayork Lee is the director of this production. This marks Baayork’s return to Starlight for the first time in more than 20 years – previously, she choreographed Starlight’s production of Miss Saigon in 2000.
