Six More Concerts Wrap Up Starlight Season

It’s been a music-filled summer at Starlight Theatre, and as the calendar edges toward fall, the Capitol Federal Concert Series isn’t slowing down. With six more concerts still to come this month, fans of multiple music genres will find much to enjoy!

Bryan Adams
Friday, September 16
Recording artist Bryan Adams continues to be one of music’s most acclaimed live performers. He released his 13th studio album, Get Up, in October 2015. Over the course of his three-decade career, Canadian-born Adams has sold 65 million albums, toured six continents and reached No. 1 in more than 40 countries.

NEEDTOBREATHE with Mat Kearney, John Mark McMillan and Welshly Arms
Saturday, September 17
American rock ‘n’ roll band NEEDTOBREATHE is on its second annual “TOUR DE COMPADRES.” The 53-city tour is in support of the group’s new studio album, HARDLOVE, released in July. Hailing from South Carolina, the band features brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart, along with Seth Bolt and Josh Lovelace.

Ray LaMontagne
Monday, September 19
Grammy Award winner Ray LaMontagne is touring in support of his sixth studio album, Ouroboros. Starlight is one of 45 cities on a tour that began in June. LaMontagne won the 2011 Grammy for Best Folk Album for his album God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise. That year he was also nominated for Song of the Year for the hit single “Beg Steal or Borrow.”

ZZ Top with Gov’t Mule
Tuesday, September 20
The sharp-dressed Texas trio concludes an eight-city September tour at Starlight, accompanied by longtime friends Gov’t Mule. ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Now, after 47 years together and with its original personnel still intact, ZZ Top continued to entertain audiences with its electrified, dirty blues.

Counting Crows & Rob Thomas
Tuesday, September 27
Visiting 39 cities across North America, music superstars Counting Crows and Rob Thomas bring their co-headlining tour to Starlight. Counting Crows’ most recent album, 2014’s Somewhere Under Wonderland, debuted in the Top 10, and its track “Dislocation” earned a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of Top 50 Songs in 2014. The tour also features Rob Thomas’ third solo effort, The Great Unknown, released last year.

Alabama with Home Free
Thursday, September 29
Alabama is touring in support of Southern Drawl, an album released last September and the band’s first album of new songs since 2001. It’s been more than 40 years since the country band formed in a bar in Myrtle Beach, S.C. They went on to reel off 21 straight No. 1 singles, sell more than 73 million albums, and earn induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
