Staff Highlight: Tanis, Ticketing Services Superhero

On the phone or in person, our team in the Ticketing Services department makes it as easy as possible for everyone to get their tickets to concerts and Broadway shows at Starlight.

Tanis is one of the ticketing heroes who helps monitor the phone room and the help email inbox. If you haven’t spoken with her, you may have seen her during an event as the Manager On Duty for Ticketing Services. She worked seasonally in the ticketing office for four years before becoming a full-time employee in 2022.

“I love the atmosphere and people that I work with, she said. “It makes coming into work every day worth it. Also, who can’t love working in SUCH a beautiful venue?!”

There are other perks, too. Attending musicals and concerts are a highlight for many staff members. Her favorite concert would be a tossup between Train with the Goo Goo Dolls in 2019 or One Republic in 2022.

Her favorite musical so far was The Prom in 2022 but she’s looking forward to Come From Away this year.

“The story is so moving and sheds light on other stories that don’t often get told during tragic events,” Tanis said.

Recently, she read The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix.

“It was so cheesy yet so real at the same time. You had no idea where the book was going to go. Vampires? I don’t know, maybe they’re real.”
