Starlight Turns Blue in September

CATEGORY: Broadway

The final show in Starlight’s 2014 Broadway season is the worldwide smash-hit Blue Man Group, which takes the stage for six performances Sept. 9-14. All shows start at 8 p.m.

More than 25 million people around the world have been wowed by a Blue Man Group performance since the early 1990s. The North American theatrical tour coming to Starlight hit the road with new content blended with classic favorites, as well as new sound, set and video. The touring show’s design centers on a proscenium-sized LED curtain and high-resolution screen to create high-impact visual experiences for audiences.

Blue Man Group is best known for multimedia performances that are funny, intelligent and visually stunning. Three bald and blue characters don’t speak as they share their interesting tech gadgets, like sci-fi drum kits and LED-screen thought balloons. A live band, with haunting tribal rhythms that help drive the show to its climax, accompanies the Blue Men.

Audiences never know exactly what to expect during a Blue Man performance, but they’re guaranteed an evening of spectacular entertainment with high-tech stage effects, old-fashioned comedy and even a bit of circus-style mime and clowning.
