Steering Committee Expectations
Community Involvement: Members of the Community Involvement committee find ways to get YFS members more active at Starlight and in Kansas City. This committee works with other local young professional groups to organize happy hours and various outings, volunteer opportunities, and more.
Marketing: The Marketing team is tasked with getting the word out about Young Friends of Starlight’s various events. They ensure that all messaging around YFS is consistent and fits with the goals of the organization. This group creates promotional material and helps maintain a digital presence for YFS.
Membership: The Membership team is constantly thinking of fun and creative ways to attract new members, while also engaging existing members. YFS is nothing without members and this team ensures that we are constantly growing and thriving.
Personal Development: The Personal Development team’s goal is to provide YFS members with unique opportunities to network with and learn from the Starlight Board of Directors, Starlight community supporters, arts professionals and colleagues.
Starry Night: This team ensures the success of Starlight’s signature themed fundraiser, Starry Night, by selecting candidates to serve as main fundraising team for the event, developing promotional content and by working with the Starlight Events team to handle specific event logistics when requested. This team also supports other general YFS events when needed.
