Hailing from Manchester, U.K., The 1975 return to North America this spring to tour in support of their successful sophomore album, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it. Released in February 2016, the album ranked No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s list of Best Pop Albums of 2016 and was billed as “2016’s most progressive pop-rock album” by Entertainment Weekly.

The British art-pop quartet is made up of four school friends who formed their band in 2002. It took 10 years for The 1975 to emerge in the U.K.’s music scene with their Facedown EP. Shortly after, in 2013, their self-titled debut album topped the U.K. charts and quickly sold 1 million copies worldwide.

On the heels of the March 2017 release of a remixed and expanded version of their 1988 full-length debut album, Ultramega OK, Soundgarden brings their North American tour to Kansas City audiences. The band is also working on a new studio album.

Hailed as grunge innovators, Soundgarden in the 1980s and ‘90s were known for their punk ethos, metal soundscape and Chris Cornell’s roar. The Seattle band quickly build a dedicated following by touring both sides of the Atlantic, but they gained mainstream success with the release of 1994’s Superunknown. An immediate No. 1 album in the United States, it sold millions, netted Soundgarden two Grammy Awards, and introduced the band to a mass TV audience with the video for “Black Hole Sun.”
