Van Gogh Alive Opens at Starlight

The verdict is in - and Van Gogh Alive is a hit! This multi-sensory experience opened last month at Starlight Theatre and runs through December 31 of this year. Featuring more than 3,000 images of Van Gogh’s paintings, writings and more projected onto floor to ceiling screens, Van Gogh Alive is an experience unlike any other. Learn more about the reveled 19th century Dutch post-impressionist and even snap a photo in his famous Bedroom in Arles painting and the AARP Sunflower Selfie Room. Justin Cooley Opens Kimberly Akimbo

2021 Blue Star Award winner Justin Cooley made his off-Broadway debut in the new musical Kimberly Akimbo with the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City this month. After earning the award for Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role at this year’s Blue Star Awards, Cooley represented Starlight at the 2021 Jimmy Awards, where he was a finalist. Now, he will portray the role of Seth in Kimberly Akimbo through December 26 of this year. Kimberly Akimbo is a new musical from Jeanine Tesori, who won a 2015 Tony Award for Best Original Score for Fun Home. We wish you all the best, Justin - break a leg!


Tick, Tick… Boom! is Coming to Netflix

Tick, Tick… Boom! Is headed to both the big and small screens! Opening this month in theatres and later being released on Netflix, this film adaptation also marks the directorial debut for Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda and stars Andrew Garfield, Robin de Jesus, Alexandra Shipp and Vanessa Hudgens. Tick, Tick… Boom! tells the autobiographical story of Jonathan Larson, who’s working at a New York City diner as he writes the next great American musical - Rent. Tick, Tick… Boom! originally opened Off-Broadway in 2001 and earned an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical.
